Prayer to the Apostle paul

Glorious St Paul,
Most Zealous Apostle,
Martyr for the Love of Christ,
give us a deep faith,
a steadfast hope,
a burning love for our Lord
so that we can proclaim with you
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

Help us to become apostles
serving the Church with a pure heart
witnesses to her truth and beauty
amidst the darkness of our days.

With you we praise God our Father
To Him be the glory, in the Church and in Christ
Now and for ever.

Amen.

Litany of Saint Paul the Apostle

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.

Let us pray.
O God,
who has taught the whole world
by the preaching of blessed Paul the Apostle:
grant that we, who celebrate his memory,
may by following his example be drawn to you.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever.
R. Amen.

This litany was taken from that golden vein of old litanies, the Golden Manual, compiled from approved sources and published in 1851 by D. & J. Sadlier & Co. However, the Antiphon, Versicle and Response have been inserted and at the end the Collect of January18 in place of a prayer to St. Paul has been substituted.

PAULINE BEATITUDES – PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

Prayer to Saint Paul the Apostle

http://www.daughtersofstpaul.com/daughters/vocations/vocnews/newsjan25.html

PAULINE BEATITUDES Blessed are they who, like Paul, believe that God has a dream for each one of us (Gal. 1:5)

They will search for that dream day by day and hold fast to it.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, know how to thank God for everything. (1 Cor. 4:7) They will live in humility and peace.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, consider everything as lost when compared to the profound knowledge of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 3:7)

They will be stretched into growth by their continual pursuit of Him in everything.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, feel that they have not yet arrived at their goal, and fun consistently toward it. They will reach fullness of life.  Blessed are they who, free of heart like Paul, make themselves servants of all for the sake of the Gospel. (1 Cor. 9:19)

They will find in their journey innumerable friends.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, know that they possess an immense treasure in vessels of clay. They will come face-to-face with extraordinary power from God.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, have experienced everything in Christ » thirst and hunger, to be poor and to be rich » (Phil. 4:12).

They will be serene and strong in every situation.  Blessed are they who, like Paul, face thousands of difficulties for the purpose of announcing the Gospel (2 Cor. 11:29)  At the end of their life, they will be lifted up with the beauty and meaning given by this quest. They will not have lived in vain.

For Our Nation  Saint Paul, teacher of the Gentiles, watch over with love, this nation and its people. Your heart expanded so as to welcome and enfold all peoples in the loving embrace of peace. Now, from heaven, may the charity of Christ urge you to enlighten everyone with the light of the Gospel, and to establish the kingdom of love.
Inspire vocations, sustain those working for the Gospel, render all hearts docile to the Divine Master.
May this nation ever more find in Christ the Way and the Truth and the Life. May its light shine before the world, and may it always seek the kingdom of God and his justice.

Holy Apostle, enlighten, comfort and bless us all. Amen.

Patron of Evangelists

to Paul’s Prayer

O glorious St. Paul, after persecuting the Church you became by God’s grace its most zealous Apostle. To carry the knowledge of Jesus, our Divine Savior, to the uttermost parts of the earth you joyfully endured prison, scourgings, stonings, and shipwreck, as well as all manner of persecutions culminating in the shedding of the last drop of your blood for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Obtain for us the grace to labor strenuously to bring the faith to others and to accept any trials and tribulations that may come our way. Help us to be inspired by your Epistles and to partake of your indomitable love for Jesus, so that after we have finished our course we may join you in praising Him in heaven for all eternity. Amen.

Great convert and Apostle of the Gentiles, you became Christlike and knew only Christ Crucified. Though extremely learned, you relied completely on the Wisdom received from the Spirit and taught from the abundance of your heart. Instruct modern evangelists–those who preach Christ to others. Let them realize that their actions speak louder in conveying their God-given message but to rely above all on the promptings of the Spirit. Amen.

Thou art the Vessel of election, Saint Paul the Apostle, the Preacher of truth in the whole world.V. Pray for us, Saint Paul the Apostle,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: Almighty and everlasting God, Who, of Thy Divine mercy, didst instruct Thy blessed Apostle Paul what he should do that he might be filled with the Holy Ghost; by his admonitions directing us and his merits interceding for us, grant that we may serve Thee in fear and trembling and so be filled with the comfort of Thy heavenly gifts. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
